Day 27-Cooking

When I was a teenager until early 20-ish, I hate cooking. I feel cooking is wasting time. So many things you have to prepare and clean up after done. It is not done yet when you have to cook for all your family and your family complains how they are bored of the same food everyday. Even, you have to ask what they like to eat before cooking. It has so many steps. Then, I used to dislike my mom's cooking because when I went to school all of my friend's lunch seemed so delicious. I just feel my mom's cook did not have taste or blend. Until I realized I was the problem. I was a rebel kid sometimes lol. I used to feel ashamed to bring a box lunch because everybody could buy food which was expensive. I did not have money for 10k nasi padang or mi ayam. I have 10k for all day including my bus. That would not be enough if I buy food from the outside. I just bought little snack costed for 5k in total. That is a little throwback.

I started cooking by myself when I was in Taiwan. I feel like I have freedom to cook by myself without people concern what I put, what I mess, like let me just learn. I cooked ramen most of the time with vegetables. I just put every vegetables I bought to my noodle. I always buy noodle to mix. Actually, I felt I needed on diet so I just make sure I was eating enough vegetables so I can get full and tasty at the same time. I started doing grocery shopping and I love it. I really love browsing food or anything I can get. Then, I just started cooking with mixing all of the pepper, salt, sauce just to taste good. Sometimes it tastes good sometimes not. However, I never cook real dish like food who needs a lot process and serve to be good. I just cook basic with basic skills to throw off the ingredients I like, no measurement.

Until now I live by myself, I make sure I always buy vegetables and yeap I cook fried noodles with vegetables and egg. Since I don't have stove I just have an electric cooker when it is limited. First, I boil the vegetables and noodle. Second, I put some oil and scramble the egg with chili, soy sauce, pepper and sweet soy sauce. Then, I put the vegetables and put little bit water. Next, I put the noodle and mix everything. At the end, I put some salt and msg to get the umami taaste. Yeap, I like my cooking lol. I just wish it can be spicier. That's all my cooking experience. I can eat the same thing for straight a week lol.
